Description
Discovered in 1879 during excavations on the gymnasium’s upper terrace at Pergamon, this sculpture now belongs to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s collection in New York. Although removed from the site where it once stood, the piece still captures the refined artistry of Hellenistic sculpture, showcasing the era’s characteristic blend of energetic movement and lifelike detail.
